MAYA Character Design Help

We're close to finishing our model.  Some of you maybe having some trouble modeling, especially if you can't see your character designs as you add more detail to you model in Maya.  Below is a link to help you switch between a solid view (Opaque) of your model to a see-through (transparent) view of your model.  You can then use the lines/edges to "draw"/shape your character in the way of your original designs.

  1. Click Here
  2. Go to File > Import > x_rayShelf.mel
  3. This script will create a new material/texture to help you model
  4. Apply the new material/texture to your model.
  5. The Time Slider: If you move between frame 1 and 24 your model will move between opaque to transparent
Here is also a link for those looking for extra help on modeling: Real-time Character Modeling
I will go over this again in class.  This should help! Good luck!

Models due Friday 10/12/2012 by email.  We will also have a quiz on what we learned to Model.
